“Hidden Scriptures”
2016 - 2017

During a two-year period of spiritual and emotional difficultly after she graduated college, Leasure experienced a creative block and did not make any new artwork. Between the years of 2016-2017, Leasure finally broke out of this creative dry spell with the following series which captures the sensuality and expressiveness of long, flowing, and almost ethereal hair that is used to scribe the subtle, hidden messages alluded to by the titles of each piece. In the final piece in this series, the artist explored the same concept of hidden scriptures, using branches of a tree instead of locks of hair to form the words. Light and color heavily influence her artwork during this period.
